Accommodation at the Alto Andino Hotel
After breakfast, we will start our way to Tierra del Fuego National Park.
This full-day excursion begins with a three- to four-hour hike through a forest, heading to a wonderfully picturesque viewpoint above the majestic Acigami Lake (formerly Lake Roca). As we walk, the fascinating and diverse flora and fauna of this landscape, including the Magellanic Woodpecker, is always present. You can also see birds such as the Cachañas, the Aguilas Moras, and the magnificent CondorAndino. Upon reaching the viewpoint, beautiful landscapes of Lagunas Verde and Negra, the Ovando and Lapataia rivers, and the quiet bay of Lapataia await us.
From here, we can enjoy lunch near the Lapataia river bank. Lunch will be served inside a heated dome with a panoramic view, to avoid wind or rain.
After a brief safety instruction near Acigami Lake, this afternoon we will take inflatable boats to the Ovando River and enjoy some of the most beautiful views in the park, while relaxing in the calm and crystal clear waters of the Ovando River. As we paddle out to Laguna Verde, we enter one of the most picturesque places in the region, surrounded by stunning scenery on all sides.
As you approach Bahia Lapataia, our final destination, prepare to observe resident bird families such as Petrels, Albatross, Steamer Ducks and other species of seabirds native to these shores. After disembarking, we will have time to relax and enjoy the early southern sunset behind the mountains. This location, in the last kilometers of the southernmost sections of the Pan-American Highway, is truly the end of the world!

In the Tierra Mayor Valley, just 10 minutes from the city, we began a journey of discovery to find one of the most beautiful natural treasures of Tierra del Fuego, the extraordinary glacial lake of the Turquoise Lagoon.
The hike begins with a demanding climb through the sub-Antarctic forest of Tierra del Fuego which, after about an hour, levels off, leaving the forest behind and in its place; amazing views of the valley – a fitting reward for our efforts! The scenic hike will finally take us to the small but impressive Laguna Turquesa, the “” turquoise lagoon “”, before gaining altitude, walking up a rocky ridge to the top of Mount Carbajal, with its summit revealing the glorious Carbajal Valley. .
In this unspoiled setting, it’s easy to imagine the great mass of ice making its way to meet the Beagle Channel 10,000 years ago during the last ice age, shaping this unique topography in the process. We have lunch here before making our descent and walking again through this truly unforgettable landscape.
NOTE: Minimum age 12 years.
